Thriving in a Changing World:

Presentations and Research Proceedings

Keynote speakers featured in the 2021 AG Bell Global LSL Virtual Symposium – Drs. Ludovica Serratice, Danielle Matthews, Krystal Werfel, and Ruth Litovsky – provided a discussion on their research to nearly 900 virtual attendees. The speakers represented a global perspective on the innovative and important ways to support and advance a listening and spoken language outcome for children all over the world. Topics included the learning of more than one spoken language, the pragmatic development that underpins communication, the importance of binaural perception, and the link of all this to literacy.

AG Bell has received grant support for its keynote speakers from the National Institutes of Health to feature esteemed scientists in the field of hearing health research and auditory science. Presenters featured in the 2021 Symposium were supported by the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, National Institutes of Health.

Our Mission

Working globally to ensure that people who are deaf and hard of hearing can hear and talk.

We want all families to be informed and supported, professionals to be appropriately qualified to teach and help children with hearing loss, public policy leaders to effectively address the needs of people with hearing loss, and communities to be empowered to help their neighbors with hearing loss succeed.
