Within the U.S. and Puerto Rico, there are 41 AG Bell chapters that join in the mission of AG Bell at the local level. Use the drop down menu to find a chapter near you and find information on services and people who support you in your area.

AG Bell International

AG Bell established AG Bell International to communicate with and support people across the globe. AG Bell International began its outreach with the development of culturally-sensitive educational programs and services for people using Spanish as their primary language, including those living in the United States. As the organization expands, outreach will continue in other languages.

Financial Aid

Schedules may change. AG Bell announces all programs through eNews to members. If you're not a member yet, please join on our Membership page. AG Bell offers financial aid programs for families at every stage of raising their child. Members of AG Bell receive announcements of all programs through the eNews. For every application we must receive documentation of a bilateral hearing loss in the moderately-severe to profound range diagnosed before age 5 and the use of listening and spoken language. For more information about any of these programs, contact us here.

Financial Assistance for Hearing Technology

Many other organizations provide financial assistance for the evaluation and purchase of hearing aids for children. Email financialaid@agbell.org for more information or look up your local chapter here.

AG Bell College Scholarship Program

    The College Scholarship application will not open for the 2023-2024 academic year. If you are pursuing a graduate degree in law or public policy, please see the Nofer Scholarship program. Please become a member of AG Bell to receive program announcements on any future programs. For more information on scholarships, see Additional Scholarships below.

George H. Nofer Scholarship for Law and Public Policy

   This program provides awards of $5,000 each year for up to three full-time graduate students who are attending an accredited law school or a masters or doctoral program in public policy or public administration. The application is now closed.  Access the guidelines here.

 

Arts & Sciences Award Program

Available to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in grades one through twelve, awards help students participate in after-school, weekend or summer programs that enrich language and develop skills in the arts or sciences. The application is now closed.

School-Age Financial Aid

  The School‐Age Financial Aid program is for students who deaf and hard of hearing who are in first through twelfth grades at a parochial, independent or private mainstream school. Awards help with educational costs like tuition, books, equipment, room and board, auditory and speech language support services, academic tutoring, transportation, and other school‐related expenses. Please Note: Public school, oral school, home school and post‐secondary students are not eligible for this program. This application is now closed. You can view the guidelines here.

AG Bell Preschool-Age Financial Aid Program

     The Preschool Financial Aid program helps families of children from age 4 until they begin first grade with many expenses including auditory support services, speech-language therapy, preschool tuition, etc. Award amounts vary and are made once a year. Parent & Infant Financial Aid Program

    For families of infants and toddlers under the age of 4 who are pursuing a spoken language outcome for their child. This application is now closed! You can find the English guidelines here and the Spanish guidelines here.

The Doreen Pollack AVT Scholarship

   AG Bell and The Listen Foundation have established a professional scholarship in the name of Doreen Pollack, a pioneer in the standards of excellence in listening and spoken language. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist LSLS professionals in fulfilling the requirements for certification as a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist (LSLS™) in Auditory-Verbal Therapy (LSLS Cert. The AG Bell AVEd Scholarship

   AG Bell has established a professional scholarship to support certification of educators through the AG Bell Academy. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist LSLS professionals in fulfilling the requirements for certification as a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist (LSLS™) in Auditory-Verbal Education (LSLS Cert. Leadership Opportunities For Teens

 

Leadership Opportunities for Teens (LOFT) is a signature AG Bell program dedicated to shaping and transforming the lives of deaf and hard of hearing teens. Team building, self-advocacy, self-confidence, leadership, and communication skills are all taught in ways that transform individuals and create an everlasting bond between peers.

Learning Experience and Adventure Program For Teens

 

The Learning Experience and Adventure Program (LEAP) helps middle and high school teens connect with other teens who are deaf or hard of hearing and use Listening and Spoken Language to communicate. This virtual program helps teens build new relationships and connections, gain a better understanding of themselves, and so much more!
