Welcome to the Maine Chapter of AG Bell!

Advocating Independence Through Listening and Talking

The Alexander Graham bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (AG Bell) is a lifelong resource, support network, and advocate for listening, learning, talking, and living independently with hearing loss. Through publications, outreach, training, scholarships, and financial aid, AG Bell promotes the use of spoken language and hearing technology. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., with chapters located throughout the United States and a network of international affiliates, AG Bell’s global presence provides its members and the public with the support they need – close to home. With over a century of service, AG Bell supports its mission: Advocating Independence through Listening and Talking!

Currently, there are 30 state chapters in the United States. Chapters are incorporated entities with a primary goal of increasing awareness of hearing loss and the benefits of early intervention at the state level. Members include parents of children with hearing loss, adults with hearing loss, and the professionals who serve them. Chapter leaders volunteer their time to educate healthcare and educational professionals, parents, and the general public that children with hearing loss can learn to listen and talk.

Be part of a network of parents, professionals and adults with hearing loss that live and work in your community! Join AG Bell today and become a member of the Maine Chapter of AG Bell.
