Several recognized DHHS local groups are found in major metropolitan areas such as
Washington, DC; Chicago, IL; San Francisco, CA; Los Angeles, CA; and Rochester, NY. DHHS
Area Representatives, who serve as resource persons, are found in many states. If a DHHS
member is in an area where there is no DHHS local group nor a DHHS Area Representative,
the DHHS Membership Directory may be consulted to locate other local DHHS members.
An area representative acts as a liaison between local DHHS members and the DHHS
executive committee. The area rep also works with the local AG Bell chapter (if there is
one) and the AG Bell parent section leaders, professional section leaders, and children's
rights coordinator. Area reps are also usually responsible for organizing local DHHS
activities.
In addition to the area representatives, the members-at-large of the DHHS executive
committee also serve as representatives of the general membership. Any DHHS member who
wishes to address a concern or query to the executive committee may contact either
member-at-large.
Click on the appropriate state for the name of that state's area rep. If contact
information is not included, please check your DHHS directory or contact the state chapter
or AG Bell directly on how to contact your area rep.
