The videos on this page were created by teens who are deaf and hard of hearing to highlight situations they find challenging and offer tips or strategies for managing those situations. The videos are intended for pre-teens and teens who are deaf and hard of hearing, their parents and the professionals who serve them as they work together to navigate challenges of living with a hearing loss. kids filmingThese videos related to Self Advocacy are the result of a leadership project undertaken by the first session of LOFT in Los Angeles in the summer of 2013. The teen participants were responsible for creating and presenting the video content,including:

  • Identifying challenges and solutions
  • Developing scripts
  • Determining which scenes best illustrate the situations
  • Selecting wardrobes
  • Finding or creating props
