May 19th - 5K Talk Walk Run
Mitch Park, Edmond, OK
Pick up packets at 7:00 a.m. - 7:45 a.m.  Race 8:00 a.m. 

May is Better Speech and Hearing Month and the Oklahoma Chapter of Alexander Graham Bell is sponsoring a 5K Talk Walk Run Event to raise awareness about hearing loss:

 

• Hearing loss is the most common birth defect.
• Newborns can be identified at birth through Universal Newborn Hearing Screening.
• It is estimated that 150 babies will be identified with hearing loss each year in Oklahoma.
• Research as shown that if appropriate intervention is provided by 6 months of age, speech and language should develop normally.
• Early amplification and early intervention are available and children Can learn to Listen and Talk.
