May is Better Speech and Hearing Month and the Oklahoma Chapter of Alexander Graham Bell is sponsoring a 5K Talk Walk Run Event to raise awareness about hearing loss:
We need the help of ALL Oklahoma Chapter AG Bell Membership for this event. Attached you will find a sponsorship letter and sponsorship form. We are asking each AG Bell member family to identify 2-3 persons within your circle of friends to sponsor this race in dollar amounts of $100 and $250. Please ask your pediatrician, insurance agent, grandparents and family friends. Please ask at least 1 or 2 people to run the race on your child’s behalf. AG Bell is teaming with state and local agencies that provide services to children with hearing loss. Please mark your calendar to bring your family to this event. There will be a 5K race and a 150-foot run for the children under 12. There will be activities for children during the event.
Race entry fees are $20.00. There is no charge for non-racers to attend the event.
We are asking family members to consider ordering a T-Shirt for your family members. Entry forms will also have order blank for T-shirts. You can support AG Bell by either entering the race or purchasing a T-shirt for your family members and attending the Race Event. For our Tulsa members, this is a statewide event and additional proceeds will be budgeted for the AG Bell organization to benefit the members across the state. Please contact Wendy DeMoss if you are interested in volunteering on the day of the race. It will take the support of all of our Chapter members and extended family to make this event a success and promote awareness that early detection of hearing loss is the key to opportunities for spoken language.
