Hearing Loss at Home

There are lots of ways you can adapt a home environment for children and adults with hearing loss. Children and adults with hearing loss often employ a variety of common communication technologies to ease everyday communication. You can also outfit your home with alert systems specially designed for use by people with hearing loss.
Just like any child, children with hearing loss can learn to grow and thrive in a variety of environments if they are given the opportunity. Although children and young adults should not be limited by hearing loss, they may also enjoy networking and social opportunities geared toward children who are deaf or hard of hearing. In addition, a growing number of arts and entertainment venues are now equipped with accommodations that make them accessible to people with hearing loss.
