Hearing Access Signage
For those of you who travel, please keep an eye out for hearing access signage. This could be designated by the “oc” or “cc” or “rwc” letters for captioned or an assistive listening device symbol such as the ear with the dots, induction loop symbol (ear with “T”) or other symbols that communicate that hearing assistance is available.
Accessible Venues
The following cultural institutions offer services to the deaf and hard of hearing community. Please note, this list does not by any means indicate that other institutions do not offer services. For other institutions, it is best to call or email first in order to verify services.
Please note that PHOTO ID is needed when headsets or neck loops are borrowed.
New York City
American Girl Place The theater is equipped with an infrared sound system. Headsets and neck loops are available at the entrance of the theater. Signed performances are available upon request with two weeks notice.
American Museum of Natural History Headsets and neck loops are available in the following locations:
1) LeFrak Imax Theater 2) Kaufman and Linder Theaters 3) The Hayden Planetarium Space Theater
Rear Window Captioning is available in the LeFrak IMAX Theater.
A TTY telephone is located directly inside the 77th Street entrance and in the Roosevelt Rotunda on the second floor.

The Frick Museum
T-coil compatible and audio guides are available.
Broadway Shows Most Broadway and some off-Broadway shows are equipped with either an FM or an infrared sound system. Headsets and neck loops are available. They are available at kiosks in the theater but may be reserved with 48 hours notice by calling Sound Associates at 212-582-7678.
Lincoln Theater
Avery Fischer Hall – The Theater is equipped with an infrared sound system. Headsets and neck loops are available at the kiosk on the second floor.
The State Theater – The Theater is equipped with an infrared sound system. Headsets and neck loops are available at the cloakroom.

Loews Theater All theaters are equipped with T-coil compatible headsets that are available at the ticket window. Rear Window Captioning is available at the following NYC theaters:

The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Theaters – The Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium is equipped with an infrared sound system. Headsets and neck loops are available.
Audio guides – A guide to special exhibitions and selections from the permanent collection. Headsets and neck loops are available. The guides are free to visitors with visual or hearing impairments. Printed transcripts in both regular and large print are also available. These are available in the main hall on the left hand side of the entrance and at various points throughout the museum lectures.
Slide Lectures – Selected lectures are real-time captioned. Sign language is available at some lectures.
Films – Some are available with captioning.
Gallery Talks – FM assistive listening systems with headsets or neck loops are available for some of the Talks. Sign language is available at some of the Talks.
Telephone – A TTY is located inside the Garage entrance.
Sign Language – Interpreters may be requested with at least two weeks notice.

Temple Emanu-El
All sanctuaries are equipped with an infrared sound system. Headsets and neck loops are available from the ushers.
Theaterworks Performances
The Town Hall Theater is equipped with an infrared sound system. The Auditorium at the Equitable Tower is equipped with an FM system. Headsets and neck loops are available at the box office.
East Hampton, New York
Guild Hall
The theater is equipped with an infrared sound system. Headsets and neck loops are available at the entrance of the theater.
Asheville, North Carolina
The Biltmore
Neck loops, headsets, and transcripts are available for the audio guides at the audio guide distribution point.
Washington, D.C. Hillwood House
The theater has open captioning. In addition, headsets and neck loops are available for the audio guides at the audio guide distribution point.

The Queen Elizabeth II
